UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES HERE AT NHS:  Meet with someone from the university and ask your questions about admissions, majors, financial aid, and anything else you want to know. 

REFERENCE LIBRARY:  Gather all the information you need to make a good decision about your future.  Computers with internet access are available for college and scholarship searches. Also, most universities have virtual tours available on the internet.

UNIVERSITY APPLICATIONS AND APPLICATION WORKSHOPS: Workshops for online for online applications will be held throughout the months of October and November.

COLLEGE FAIR:  Every fall we host the Harbor Area College Fair at CSUDH at the beginning of the semester.  Visit with numerous university representatives in one day and pick up valuable information.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:  Gather information on different scholarships available to you from the local community and the internet.

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION:  Seniors can pick up the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and Cal Grant GPA Verification Forms in the College & Career Center.  Federal and State Grants account for 90% of all financial aid in the USA.  We schedule workshops on how to fill out the forms during the day for students and in the evening for parents (English and Spanish).

COMMUNITY COLLEGE CLASSES:  Students with a B or above grade point average are encouraged to take a course at a local community college for enrichment and a competitive academic record when applying to college. 



COMMUNITY SERVICE:  Pick up an information sheet of a local agency that provides community service opportunities.
